Hey, I’m India, the founder and maker behind Zuri Craftworks, a Black woman–owned brand rooted in craftsmanship, care, and healthy hair.

Zuri Craftworks was created for women who understand that hair care is self-care. Every piece is thoughtfully handmade with the intention of protecting hair, minimizing friction, retaining moisture, and helping styles last longer, especially in everyday life and during harsh seasons like winter.

My love for creating by hand began decades ago through sewing and crocheting, and that passion has stayed with me through every season of my life. After transitioning to natural hair in 2009, hair health became deeply personal to me. I learned firsthand how much materials, friction, and protection matter, and that knowledge shaped the heart of this brand.

What started as a creative outlet in 2018 evolved into something more meaningful: hair accessories designed with intention. Satin-lined and silk pieces that support healthy hair, made slowly and with care, not mass-produced.

Today, Zuri Craftworks is in a season of transition and growth. I’m honoring the work that’s been created by hand while making room for what’s next. This current collection represents a chapter that’s being gently closed, once these designs are gone, they will not be restocked.

The name Zuri means beautiful in Swahili, and that meaning is woven into everything I create, celebrating beauty, care, and the freedom to evolve.
